THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF SKWIBBLE SET TO BLAST OFF
(Electronic Invites, and More On Advertisers Dreamy New Platform Launches New Year's Day 2008)
LOS ANGELES --- With sassy holiday greetings such as "Time To Start Being Jolly, Jerk-Off" with an equally irreverent pencil image of a 50s-inspired "mom-type", any visitor to www.Skwibble.com automatically recognizes that this is more than simple invitations to baby showers and birthday parties. Indeed Skwibble offers a completely new form of marketing that combines the viral nature of social networking with the unobtrusive nature of co-branding in a unique, visually pleasing environment thanks to its founder, creative visual master, Derek Shields. The formal live launch for www.skwibble.com is scheduled for January 1, 2008, at midnight, and can be accessed by computers all over the world.
What sets Skwibble.com apart from the other services currently offered in the electronic marketplace is two-fold. Like the existing sites, Skwibble.com offers free invitations, announcements, reminders and postcards to the consumer; however the graphics developed specifically for Skwibble.com are beyond what's currently offered because Shields, an advertising veteran who has worked within the film and entertainment industry for more than a decade has assembled the best team to create visually stimulating, memorable masterpieces. Secondly, this is a new platform for advertisers to get their brand and messages out in a way that speaks to the savvy user. No pop-ups at Skwibble.com. Instead, co-branding is embedded within the specially made "skwibble" to create benefits for both the consumer and the brand.
"I've seen firsthand that the platforms for media marketing have changed dramatically for all brands looking to engage the consumer," remarked Shields from the Los Angeles-based headquarters of Skwibble, LLC. "As I began to stretch my imagination, I realized that in addition to attention-grabbing graphics, there was something missing in the marketplace and grassroots marketing has made it into the mainstream. Finally after more than a year in the process of building out the technology to back up the idea; and after numerous successful meetings with partners who are thrilled to get out to the consumer in an invigorated way; I'm pumped to introduce Skwibble to the world."
Shields' creative advertising background has earned him many accolades including Key Art Awards and Mobius Awards for excellence in advertising - specifically in regards to motion picture and animated advertising campaigns for several film studios. He began his movie advertising career at The Walt Disney Company in 1997; then was tapped to create a full service print division, aptly named Poster Child, for Craig Murray Productions in 2000. There, he developed relationships with all of the major studios, and television production companies. In 2006, Shields co-founded The Arterie, a creative agency specializing in entertainment advertising as well as corporate branding. Some of the notable campaigns Shields has been linked to are "Toy Story", "Toy Story 2", "The Little Mermaid", "The Incredibles", "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Friday Night Lights", "SWAT", "Barber Shop 2", "Crash", "Cinderella Man", "Ratatouille", "Alvin and the Chipmunks" and many more.
More than an electronic invitation site; Skwibble is a way of life. From the moment a user signs in; the experience is unique unto itself. Creating Skwibbles, talking "skwibblish" and being part of the Skwibble nation will become part of the universal electronic culture. With graphics, messages and a platform that withstands the 21st Century and beyond, Skwibble is poised to change the way we share our humor, invites and importantly, our lives.
